On the Plus SideSticks and stones may break my bones but names can never hurt me. I had always taken that saying lightly, as many others do. It's not like you would ever seriously be hurt by sticks or stones unless you fell off a cliff. The saying was self-explanatory, saying word are harmless. Brute force is the only true hurt. This was nothing more than a widely known phrase. It was something mothers told their second or third grade children who were picked on at school. The part about sticks was proven true. In my hand, I held a stick that broke each and every bone is my body. At least, that was what it felt like. But that would feel amazing compared to the mental and emotional hurt. And even then, the word that would be conjured up would become mere flesh wounds because actions speak louder than words. As he walked by, Tom's coat was knocked to the floor. When he went to pick it up, his eyebrows came together and I saw a sticky spot glistening in the light above him. Bill made his way across the room furiously. Each long stride he made suddenly made the room look smaller and smaller.
